United Methodist Women (UMW)
The JC 1st UMC local unit of UMW meets the 3rd Thursday of the month at 1:30 pm. They financially support many ministries, including the Open Door (Geary County homeless shelter) and the Food Pantry. In 2013, they also gave financial gifts to Imagine No Malaria and the World Thank Offering.
Funds are raised through rummage sales, the Holly Day Bazaar in November, and serving meals to outside-the-church groups that use our Fellowship hall for their events. Their ministry of providing lunches for families following memorial services is especially appreciated.
All women are invited to be a part of UMW. For more information contact the church office.
